Frequently Asked Questions

What media formats does rtMedia support?

rtMedia supports formats that have the widest cross-browser and cross-platform support.

Images: JPEG, PNG and GIF
Audio: MP3 only
Videos: Only MP4 (H.264Codec support)

This set of supported formats can be extended with our Documents & Other Files Premium addon. If you need to work with any other non-standard audio/video format, please have a look at the following Premium solution that integrates seamlessly with rtMedia: Transcoder (has a Free version).

Can I embed external media (like, from YouTube)?

Yes, you can embed media and links from external sources with our URL Preview addon.

Is rtMedia plugin Translation-ready? Is my language supported?

rtMedia is fully translation ready. You can contribute by translating new strings or correcting existing ones from our translation project page. You will require a wordpress.org account to log in.

As all translations are user-contributed, chances are that your language is already supported. You can get in touch with us if you don’t see your language on the translation project page.

I need a new feature, what should I do?

Please get in touch with us and share your ideas.

We cannot guarantee that your idea will be implemented though as new features are highly dependent your idea aligning with our vision for rtMedia Core/Premium addons.

Can I hire the rtMedia team for some custom implementation?

Yes. Just fill out this contact form and we will get back to you.

I am having an issue. How do I resolve it?

We would suggest you look up our extensive product documentation before contacting us. If you are not able to find a solution, you can submit a support request directly from the Support page.

Do I need a license key for rtMedia to work?

Nope! rtMedia Core is completely free and works straight out of the box- just install it like any other plugin and you are ready to go.

License keys are only applicable to our Premium themes and products. Each of them extends the rtMedia Core by adding functionality or styling. They are completely optional though, as rtMedia Core is pretty capable by itself.

Please refer to our License FAQ page if you have more questions.
