BuddyPress-Media FFMPEG Converter v1.4 with Video-Thumbnails & Translation

Today, we are releasing v1.4 for BuddyPress-Media FFMPEG Add-on which adds video-encoding facility to BuddyPress-Media project.

This release add following new features:

  1. Automatic video-thumbnail generation
  2. Translation support for Spanish language.

Automatic Video-Thumbnail Generation

BuddyPress Media FFMPEG Converter 1-4

Now, along with converting your videos, the FFMPEG converter also creates and sets an image thumbnail. It uses an algorithm to choose the best thumbnail. It also creates two additional thumbnails that you can switch to, in case you don’t like the default one.

You can test this on our live demo server. Also following screenshot shows interface to select thumbnail:

A while ago, BuddyPress Media got translation ready and now ships with multiple languages.

Now, BuddyPress Media FFMPEG Converter is translation ready, as well. In fact, this version includes the Spanish translation.

You can add your own translations on our translation project or directly to your copy.

Media-node updated

To support video-thumbnail generation, we need to update Media node project also.

Please upgrade your media-node setup, before you upgrade to BuddyPress-Media FFMPEG Converter v1.4. Depending on how you have installed media-node, upgrade process will only require git pull and restarting media-node.

If you have used our installation script, then you can simply log-in to your terminal and run following command:

curl https://raw.github.com/rtCamp/media-node/master/setup/update.sh | sudo bash

Automatic update for BuddyPress-Media FFMPEG Converter

If you are using BuddyPress-Media FFMPEG Converter v1.3 then you will see automatic update notice as you see for standard WordPress plugins hosted on wordpress.org repo. Just click “Update” button to upgrade BuddyPress-Media FFMPEG Converter to v1.4.

For customers running BuddyPress-Media FFMPEG Converter v1.2, please download v1.4 from your account center.

All customers will receive future updates automatically.
